Pet CBD Sizing Guide

Prospect Farms is the only pet CBD brand in the market to offer veterinarian approved formulations specially formulated for multiple need-states (Mobility and Calm). We are deeply humbled by how many of our devoted customers have shared their impactful stories with how transformative our products have been for both pets and pet parents alike. After receiving many requests from our customers for an even greater concentration of Full Spectrum CBD and easier dosing instructions, we listened.

Effective April 1, we have increased the amount of CBD in each of our Pet Drops by 25%!

What does this mean for you?

New Packaging, New Colors, New Sizes

Because we consciously formulate our veterinarian approved products for multiple need-states (Mobility and Calm), when we decided to introduce our new 100% recyclable packaging (which you can read about HERE) we decided to also simplify the colors of our need state products. Today, Blue means calming and green means mobility.

How much should my dog take?

Because Prospect Farms formulates specifically for your dog’s size, each Pet Drop product is meant to be a 30-day supply with each full dropper (1 mL) being a standard daily dose to support your dog’s new wellness routine.

We know that sounds complicated so we’ve tried to keep things simple. The amount of CBD you should take depends on a range of factors, most notably:

  • Body weight
  • Metabolism
  • Individual body chemistry
  • Environmental factors such as diet, exercise and even surroundings (apartment versus suburban living)

We always recommended that a good starting point for any new pup trying full spectrum CBD products is 4 to 5 mg for every 25 lbs of body weight. This shift to a 5 mg dosing recommendation is to help keep things simple for you, the pet parent, as you incorporate Prospect Farms into your dog’s daily wellness routine.

For example, we recommend that a 45 lb. springer spaniel starts with our "Medium Dog Drops" which contains 300 mg of CBD in a bottle or 10 mg of CBD in each full dropper.

As with anything new, always start with a small dosage of CBD and increase slowly. It may take a few days or even weeks for your pup to become fully acquainted with CBD before the calming or mobility benefits are truly observable.

While we recommend starting small, it is safe to consume slightly more or less CBD based on weight (i.e. 10 mg vs 15 mg for the 45 lb. springer spaniel just starting off) and increase from there.
