Prospect Farms Appoints Michael Bumgarner as Partner, Chief Strategy Officer

Bumgarner joins the team after originally founding Cannuka, the Columbus-based skincare line that combines the power of cannabis and manuka honey, which he launched in 2017. Bumgarner is known for scaling Cannuka to the leading cannabis skincare brand in the category, highlighted by a national launch across ~1,200 Ulta locations and more than 3,600 locations worldwide.

Leaning on his background in both farming and consumer products, Bumgarner will guide Prospect Farms’ leading wellness brands including functional beverage brand Tenneyson and male wellness brand Mode(s), both crafted with botanical blends from Prospect Farms. Bumgarner will also lead strategy for botanical beauty brand Cannaluxe (previously Cannuka Luxe), the clean, green, botanical beauty line offering natural skincare routines powered by a full spectrum of fortifying cannabinoids and purifying botanical terpenes.

Cannaluxe debuted their nine product lines across a national footprint of Neiman Marcus stores & online in October 2021 with features in their celebrated Christmas Gift Guide and Men's Magazine. Under Bumgarner's leadership, Cannaluxe will look to expand the brands’ footprint across luxury & boutique retailers as well as into the treatment and clinical focused channels including spas and dermatology practices.

The news of Bumgarner’s appointment comes on the heels of Cannaluxe making headlines over the holidays for leading the wave of clean and green brands utilizing marketing in new and innovative ways. The brand partnered with MadHive to implement a shoppable TV campaign to mark its launch at Neiman Marcus, along with Flowcode-enabled in-store product education kiosks that allow consumers to interact with and learn more about the products.
